If a life is at risk, call 911 first

We provide home medical care; we are not an emergency service. We don't carry an ambulance or resuscitation equipment. In those cases call 911 first, which arrives with what's needed.

911 is Ecuador's emergency number (ECU 911) and works from any phone.

Urgent care or emergency?

Emergency

Is a life in danger?
Yes, right now.
How much time do I have?
Minutes. Every minute counts.
What should I do?
Call 911.

Urgent care

Is a life in danger?
Not immediately.
How much time do I have?
Hours. A doctor is needed soon.
What should I do?
Message us: we'll assess you at home.
See the triage scale

Manchester triage

  • Red: immediate care
  • Orange: very urgent, within 10 min
  • Yellow: urgent, within 60 min
  • Green: standard, within 120 min

Blue (non-urgent, within 240 min): a regular appointment can be booked. The minutes are the maximum wait to be seen in an emergency room under the Manchester scale.

Rule of thumb: If the person isn't breathing well, doesn't respond, turns blue, has crushing chest pain, is having a seizure or is bleeding heavily → 911. Most other cases can be assessed at home.

Call 911 if there is:

  • Chest pain or a suspected heart attack
  • Severe difficulty breathing
  • Stroke signs: facial droop, arm weakness or slurred speech
  • A traffic accident or a hard blow to the head
  • Loss of consciousness or seizures
  • Bleeding that won't stop
