Cardiologist in Cuenca,
at home or in clinic
A Cardiology specialist assesses you at home or in clinic, by appointment. If you need heart tests, we quote them in advance.
Care is provided in Spanish only. This English page is so you can read how the service works; the visit itself is not in English.
We confirm the time based on the doctor's availability and, for home visits, that he can reach your area.

Cardiology consultation
$60
At home or in clinic. Tests are quoted separately, before they're done.
How the consultation works
A cardiologist
Cardiology studies, diagnoses and treats diseases of the heart and circulation. The doctor is a Cardiology specialist.
At home or in clinic
You choose: at your home, within the area we cover in Cuenca, or in clinic.
Tests quoted in advance
ECG, 24-hour blood pressure, echocardiogram and Holter. We tell you the price before they're done.
By appointment
We confirm the day and time on WhatsApp.
Care in Spanish
The consultation is in Spanish only.
Not an emergency service
Severe chest pain doesn't wait for an appointment: call 911.
It doesn't replace the general practitioner. The GP handles today's complaint and orders the first step. Cardiology comes in when that picture needs a heart specialist or one of these tests.
Consultation and tests
The consultation has a fixed price. Tests are quoted before they're done.
Cardiology consultation
$60
At home or in clinic. Doesn't include tests or treatments.
Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG)
Quote
Records the heart's electrical activity at that moment: the rhythm, some blocks and signs of an enlarged heart or a previous heart attack. It's quick and painless. It doesn't show the valves or how well the heart pumps, and a normal ECG doesn't rule out all heart disease.
24-hour blood pressure monitoring (ABPM)
Quote
Measures your blood pressure for 24 hours, in real life, day and night. It's used to confirm hypertension, to see whether high readings happen only at the doctor's (white-coat) or outside it with normal readings in clinic (masked), and whether pressure drops during sleep.
Echocardiogram
Quote
An ultrasound of the heart. It shows the size of the chambers, the thickness of the walls, how well the muscle pumps, the state of the valves and whether there's fluid around the heart. No radiation. It can't "see" whether a coronary artery is blocked.
Holter (24-hour ECG)
Quote
Records your heart rhythm for 24 hours while you go about your day. It's used to look into palpitations, dizziness or fainting that come and go.
If you have chest pain right now, don't wait for a test: call 911.
When it helps, and when it doesn't
It helps if…
- Your blood pressure is high on some readings and normal on others, or doesn't come down with treatment.
- You have palpitations, dizziness or a fainting episode that needs to be looked into.
- You get short of breath walking, your legs swell, or you've been told your heart doesn't pump well.
- You were told you have a heart murmur or an abnormal ECG.
- You've just left the hospital for a heart problem and the plan at home needs to be put in order.
What this consultation doesn't do
- Severe chest pain that spreads to the arm or neck, with sweating or sudden shortness of breath, doesn't wait for an appointment. That's an emergency: call 911.
- It doesn't replace cardiac catheterization, heart surgery or contrast studies of the coronary arteries.
When not to wait for the appointment: call 911
- Severe chest pain that spreads to the arm, neck or jaw, with sweating or nausea
- Sudden shortness of breath, or you can't breathe lying down
- Fainting with chest pain or palpitations
- Very fast palpitations with severe dizziness or feeling about to faint
- Weakness or numbness on one side of the body, a drooping face or trouble speaking
- Very high blood pressure with a severe headache, blurred vision or confusion
The cardiology consultation is by appointment and is not an emergency service. If you need a doctor sooner, CrabCare's general home medical visit is available 24 hours a day. That doesn't replace 911 in an emergency.
